Transportation Engineer (Smart cities)
Civil EngineerOn behalf of our client, a leader company that provides services for Smart Cities and IoT solutions, we are currently looking for a Transportation Engineer, to join their team in Athens, Greece.
A day in the life of Transportation Engineer
The Transportation Engineer will be responsible for conducting and analyzing traffic studies within the context of infrastructure projects (such as road construction and transportation works). The role involves collaboration with engineering teams and public sector stakeholders to provide technical documentation and to design proposed solutions.
Your day-to-day
- Collect and analyze traffic data (surveys, statistics, field inspections).
- Prepare traffic studies and models (both static and dynamic).
- Assess current traffic conditions and forecast future scenarios.
- Propose and evaluate interventions to improve road safety and traffic flow.
- Collaborate with civil engineers and other specialists to integrate transportation parameters into infrastructure designs.
- Present and support study results to public authorities and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with regulations, guidelines, and standards set by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport or other relevant bodies.
What you will need
- Degree in Transportation Engineering or Civil Engineering with a focus on traffic/transport studies.
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in a consulting firm or engineering company.
- Strong knowledge of Greek public works standards and technical specifications.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, GIS, MS Office, and traffic simulation software (e.g. SIDRA, VISSIM, Aimsun).
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in Greek and English.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
