On behalf of our client, an innovative consultancy driving critical applications in a high-availability environment, we're seeking a Linux/Kubernetes System Engineer.
Your day to day
- Design, deploy, and manage secure, scalable Linux-based infrastructure.
- Install, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters (on-prem & cloud-native: EKS, AKS, GKE).
- Automate infrastructure provisioning & monitoring using Ansible, Terraform, and Helm.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and integrate with DevOps workflows.
- Optimize containerized application performance and ensure high availability.
- Monitor system health, performance, and resource usage across Linux/K8s environments.
- Enforce security best practices: RBAC, network policies, secrets management.
- Troubleshoot production issues across infrastructure and application layers.
- Perform system upgrades, patches, and K8s component maintenance.
- Collaborate closely with Developers, SREs, and Cloud Engineers.
- Document infrastructure, configurations, and processes clearly and thoroughly.
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response as needed.
Must Have
- Solid experience in Linux system administration (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
- In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes architecture (Ingress, CRDs, Operators).
- Hands-on with scripting (Bash, Python, or Go).
- Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Loki).
- Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- GitOps mindset and experience with ArgoCD or FluxCD.
- Strong understanding of containerization (Docker, Podman).
- Bonus: Experience with service meshes (Istio, Linkerd).
