IT Retail Digital Innovation Specialist

On behalf of our client, a leading international retail group with operations across Greece, Bulgaria, Cyprus, and Romania we are seeking to appoint an IT Retail Digital Innovation Specialist to drive the digital transformation of their in-store customer experience.

The Role:

Reporting directly to the IT Digital Retail Manager, the successful candidate will be at the forefront of reimagining the future of retail by designing and implementing innovative, tech-driven solutions that bridge the gap between physical and digital commerce. This role requires both strategic vision and hands-on execution, with an emphasis on customer journey mapping and leveraging technologies such as RFID, mobile POS systems, and phygital touchpoints.

Your Day to Day:

• Lead the end-to-end execution of in-store digital transformation projects
• Analyze customer journeys to identify innovation opportunities (e.g., self-checkout, RFID inventory management, mobile payments)
• Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, operations, marketing, and store teams
• Test and scale emerging retail technologies through pilots and evaluations
• Monitor global retail tech trends and recommend relevant implementations
• Manage external tech vendors and partners

Must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in retail digital transformation, customer experience design, or tech strategy
• Practical knowledge of at least one of the following:
• RFID-based inventory systems
• Mobile/cloud-based POS
• In-store clienteling or queue management solutions
• Strong understanding of omnichannel KPIs and retail operations
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and customer-centric design principles
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects under pressure
• Experience in fashion, beauty, or lifestyle retail sectors considered a plus
• Fluency in English required
