Application Software Engineer Team Lead (C++) - Koropi, Hybrid (4-1)

Our client is Greece's premier defense software house, NATO-registered, with active EU defense programs and a direct working relationship with the Hellenic Armed Forces. They build exclusively defense systems: tactical communication platforms designed ground-up to protect and synchronise forces in real-time. Not off-the-shelf products, software with genuine national and strategic significance.

The Role

Stepping into a position of high authority, you will lead the Tactical Communications Section as the primary technical voice for a team of approximately 10 senior engineers. This role demands a top-tier C++ expert who bridges the gap between complex high-level architecture and hands-on technical mentorship. As the lead architect, you will ensure the highest standards of performance and reliability while navigating multi-year projects via structured Waterfall methodologies. Beyond managing technical quality through rigorous code reviews, you will represent the software division in high-level strategic meetings with Directors and Heads of Engineering, staying "in the weeds" daily to solve the most complex architectural bottlenecks and drive mission-critical delivery.

What You Bring

• Mastery of C++: 10+ years of experience, with the presence and expertise to act as the "Top Expert" for the team.
• Leadership Pedigree: 3+ years of experience managing senior-level engineering teams.
• Linux Ecosystem: Deep experience in Linux programming and its complete development ecosystem.
• Modern Pipelines: A strong understanding of software engineering pipelines with a specific emphasis on DevSecOps (Security-first CI/CD).
• Domain Expertise: Proven background in telecommunications or tactical/defense communications systems.
• Academic Foundation: A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Software Engineering.

Nice to Have

• Proficient knowledge of Network Programming.
• Deep understanding of the IP stack and network applications.
